My original Psion Organiser II from around 1991.

During a sort out last year my Psion Organiser was found in a box in the loft. It had a battery in it with expiry date 2004 which thankfully hadn’t gone bad and suggests it had been there for 20 years as I wouldn’t have left an out of date battery in it!

I didn’t hold much hope but was delighted to see it burst into life with a new battery. This rekindled my interest in the device and eventually searched EBay to replace accessories etc that had been discarded a few weeks previously.

The Psion had a 32K Rampak and a 64K Datapak. The Rampak got wiped when I put the new battery in but the Datapak (EPROM) was unaffected so still had data from 1991 onwards.
